Gregor Menzies, portrait photographer
A bit about me
I’m Gregor, a photographer specialising in portrait photography.
I studied art and design, having left school, then a few years later studied photography while working as a scientific photographer at a research institute, photographing scientists, experiments, plants, equipment and machinery. I spent 18 years doing this at the Scottish Crop Research Institute. It was a great job and a great way to learn the varied techniques of photography, from photographing crops and the landscape to photographing portraits in the studio and on location; working with macro and uv lighting to printing and processing in the darkrooms. At the same time I ran a portrait and wedding photography business at the weekends and in the evenings. I eventually decided to concentrate on working as wedding photographer full time but things took an unexpected turn and I ended up owning a large high street franchised portrait photography studio in Aberdeen. I eventually moved back to Dundee and opened Azuare, a family portrait business.
My aim at Azuare is to produce stunning portrait photography, providing images that you will want to hang on your walls, creating photographs that you will love and want to display.
